What is SAT? SAT is a standardized test which is widely used for getting admissions to the undergraduate programs of colleges in the United States. It is conducted from 1926, with its initial name Scholastic Aptitude Test, then later it was called as Scholastic Assessment Test and name changed many times in between to finally directly SAT. It is developed and administered by the Educational Testing service on behalf of the College Board which also owns and publish SAT. According to the new SAT which is introduced in 2016, there will be a 3 hrs test plus 50 minutes for the SAT with the essay.
